8:1 mainsheet

They have combined their high-load 57 mm Carbo AirBlocks® with the Carbo Ratchamatic® to produce a new low profile, lightweight, and extremely powerful 8:1 mainsheet system.

The 57 mm Carbo AirBlocks® used in this system feature high strength engineering plastic in the sideplates sheave and balls for an extremely strong, lightweight block. The Carbo Ratchamatic® automatically senses load, shifts seamlessly between non-ratchet and ratchet mode, and releases quickly. An Allen wrench provides adjustment of the ratchet engagement to a higher or lower load to suit strength, sailing style and system application.

“Our new 8:1 mainsheet system is ideal for large Beach Cats,” said Product Development Manager, Dan Rondeau. “Because these boats sail with lots of rake in the mast, there is not much room between the end of the boom and the traveler. As a result, they require a lightweight, mainsheet system that doesn’t require a lot of height. The powerful 8:1 is perfect for this application.”

Prices start frrom £207.07 for the lower block and £102.06 for the upper block (all prices quoted at ex-VAT).
