While over the course of the last 24 hours the lead of this final leg of La Solitaire du Figaro has changed a few times with Francois Gabart ahead at 0430 this morning, so the race's winner of the first two legs and overall leader Armel Le Cleac'h has regained the lead this morning,  with just 85 miles to go to the finish line off Cherbourg.

After the breeze conditions of the opening 24 hours of this leg, the wind has now dropped and having rounded the Lizen Venn light off the north coast of Brittany shortly before the first sched this morning, so the boats have all hung a hard left for the Channel islands and on to the finish on port gybe in the 10 knot westerly wind. The wind is forecast to back slightly and build over the course of the day. However with a 1 hour 17 minute advantage over second place going into this leg, it is going to take a lot of topple Le Cleac'h, set to take his second ever Solitaire victory.

This morning Le Cleac'h reports that the wind had been extremely shifty and there has been much algae. All was well on board but the French skipper unsurprising reported feeling a little tired.
