Light winds and possibly further problems with his mainsail headboard have seen Francis Joyon turn in the worst day's run of his round the world record bid to date, covering just 134 miles in the last 24 hours.
Due to the conditions Joyon will be unable to rendez vous with Jean-Luc van den Heede travelling in the opposite direction on his round the world record bid.
It is interesting to note that Joyon is still around 3,250 miles ahead of the equivalent position of Michael Desjoyeaux 39 days into the Vendee Globe.
