After crossing the line first in 1984, Philippe Poupon returned with a new Nigel Irens-designed Fleury Michon (a sistership to Fujicolor and Laiterie Mont St Michel) and won the 1988 setting a record that would stand until 2000. Below: Philippe Poupon

Poupon returned to try for the hat trick with yet another new Fleury Michon, this time a van Peteghem-Prevost design  but was forced to retire
