Viper lands in Europe

Rondar Boats take on manufacture and distribution of successful US design

Thursday June 10th 2010, Author: Rondar Boats, Location: United Kingdom

Rondar Raceboats, based in Wiltshire UK, have recently assumed responsibility for the supply and marketing of the K6 Sportsboat and have now launched the 3 man high performance Viper Sportsboat (above) into the UK and European markets.

Both the Viper and K6 have been manufactured by Rondar Raceboats in the UK for many years but it is only now that the builders have taken on the direct supply to customers.

The K6 is popular in the UK, Germany and the USA with embryonic fleets in Switzerland and France. The Viper has been a phenomenal success in the USA with over 140 boats regularly racing. Both classes have very strong class associations with a very enthusiastic following.

Rondar Raceboats will showcase both the Viper and the K6 at Demonstration days and targeted regattas across the UK and Europe. The K6 already has a good racing programme and it is planned to include the Viper in a number events to give the opportunity for teams to try the boats.

Rondar's Dave Hall - an expert asymmetric sailor - will head up the promotion. With his experience in setting up and running classes, Hall's wealth of knowledge will be invaluable to current and new owners of both the K6 and the Viper going forward.

The K6 (above) is a modern two person one design 6m Sportsboat with target crew weight of 190kg. A light weight, high tech epoxy construction and a carbon rig give it high performance but easy handling. Inexpensive to both buy and run.

The Viper is a 3 person 6.5m high performance Sportsboat and a bigger sister to the K6. It has a lightweight high tech foam sandwich construction and a carbon rig. Its simple rig and manageable size mean it can be towed behind a normal size car, and launched and recovered with ease.
