2009 season gets underway for the Royal Southern Yacht Club on 7 March

The 2009 sailing season starts on Saturday 7 March at the Royal Southern Yacht Club’s waterside Clubhouse at Hamble, where it is hosting a New Racing Rules Seminar and a Crew Ball.

The club's two in-house rule specialists Philip Gage and Mike Penney will explain the new Racing Rules of Sailing during a morning seminar which runs from 1000 – 1330.

The seminar is  FREE for members of the Royal Southern and costs £10 for non-members. Copies of the new Racing Rules of Sailing will be available to purchase on the day.

The same evening, The Southern Crew Ball kicks off the season’s social scene at 1930hrs with a 'Cocktails & Dreams' theme.

Local band Splinterz will be providing live music for dancing and features Hamble's own Ruth David on lead vocals. A selection of cocktails available from the Bar will include the club's famous Jaeger-Bombs!

Tickets cost £20 per person to include finger-buffet and first cocktail.

Dress code is Black Tie for men and dreamy dresses for the ladies.
