Multis at Burnham Week
Thursday April 23rd 2009, Author: Dick Johnson, Location: United Kingdom
Burnham Week’s MOCRA Multihull class for 2009 looks like being one of the successes of twin and triple wake racing on the East Coast.
Boats from as far north as Southwold and as far west as Poole have shown serious interest in taking part, with 16 expressing solid interest.
Four Dragonfly 920s are looking to lock horns, two from the Thames Estuary’s Essex Yacht Club, one from Levington Marina and one from Southwold. The smaller Dragonfly 800s are well represented, as are the Farrier trimarans, 28, 31 and 33.
Older trimarans should be represented by the well known trio of Applejack, Strontium Dog and Whisky Jack, with a supporting cast of Telstars – one with a wing mast. Older cats include Striders and Iroquois.
Notice of race and on-line entry will soon be available on the Burnham Week web site: http://www.burnhamweek.org.uk/ .
All multihulls, MOCRA and non MOCRA, are welcome to enter, while cruising boats that just want to enjoy Burnham and its hospitality, and perhaps talk cats and tris, are more than welcome to join in.
