Ramsgate update

Royal Temple Yacht Club (RTYC) are putting the final plans in place for its annual regatta, Ramsgate Week (11th – 16th August). It is set to be an exciting week, both on and off the water, with over 80 boats expected and a fun onshore entertainment programme planned.
This year, Ramsgate Week has a created new, flexible format, accommodating both IRC and cruiser classes. RTYC look forward to hosting the IRC East Coast Championships, X-35 Open East Coast Championships and the Impala 28 Nationals during the latter part of the week (Thursday – Saturday).
Racing yachts will be attending from UK, Scotland, Holland and France, including Oyster Catcher (Winner Cork Week 2008, IRC 0), Kiss (Winner Cork Week 2008, X-35), Marine Diffusion (Winner Cote D’Opale 2008, IRC 1) and Chernikeeff 2, Peter Harrison’s Farr 52.
Davena Green, Commodore of RTYC said “We’re very pleased with entry levels this year and are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning competitors. It will be a fantastic week and we hope for some great action on the water. Competitors will be entertained with various acts every night in the marquee, entry to which is free. On Thursday night we welcome Peter Harrison, who will be talking about his experience in the America’s Cup and raising money for his charity, The Peter Harrison Foundation.”
