Farr 45 and IRC racing up west

Monday September 3rd 2007, Author: Andy Nicholson, Location: United Kingdom
The Farr 45 Nationals took place at Dartmouth Royal Regatta from 29 August-2 September, with the class level rating amongst themselves.

The fleet of eight 45's were joined in their level rating class by two DK46s - Shockwave and Dark and Steamy. The Farr 45 National title went to Jerry Otter's Werewolf on 19 points, with Alice 2 second and Fortis Excel third after nine races.

The yachts also raced to their (slightly different) IRC handicaps in IRC class 0 - which was won by Peter Rogers and Roger Duckworth's TP52 Highlife

An additional 3 IRC classes, dinghies and Cornish Shrimpers and Devon Yawls competed in Dartmouth. A feature of the week is a flypast down the River Dart by the Red Arrows - just metres above the yachts' masts.
