St Francis YC to host IRC Pacific Championship

The St. Francis Yacht Club’s prestigious Aldo Alessio Regatta has been expanded this year to serve as the venue for the 2007 US-IRC Pacific Coast Championship, scheduled for August 3,4 and 5. The regatta will include an ocean race on Friday, course racing on Saturday and the traditional 'Bay Tour' on Sunday. Fremont Bank, who sponsored a very successful regatta in 2006, is returning as the Presenting Sponsor of the event.

“The St. Francis Yacht Club is glad to host the US-IRC Pacific Coast Championship and our members and staff will insure the Club’s customary high-quality regatta, both on and off the water” said Commodore Ray Lotto.

Scheduled only five weeks before to the Club’s annual Rolex Big Boat Series, visiting yachts from the North West, Southern California as well as the Bay area, can participate in a lot of racing in a short time. “This regatta provides an ideal format to test the preparedness, performance and the skills of the boats and crews.” said Regatta Chairman, Peter Szasz.
