Owners, skippers and potential crew interested in being part of a Scottish team or team(s) for next summer's Rolex Commodore's Cup are invited to attend a meeting at the West of Scotland Institute of Sport on Tuesday 15th November at 1830hrs. The institute building is in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.
After fielding teams three times in the past RYA Scotland in conjunction with the Scottish Sailing Institute is trying to ensure that lessons from past attempts are borne in mind and would like to meet with owners or crew who will make a commitment to competing for Scotland.
Double Scottish Series winner Hamish Mackay and RYA North region keelboat coach Marc Turner are coordinating the effort.
The venue is the Palace of Art, 1121 Paisley Road West, Glasgow G52 1EQ.

Interested parties should consider the following points, particularly those surrounding nationality and ISAF categories for the helm and crews. The Rolex Commodores' Cup 2006 is an international offshore regatta for national teams racing under the IRC (Endorsed) rating rule (but not under team racing rules). The event will be held between Sunday 25 June and Sunday 2 July 2006 at Cowes, Isle of Wight. The organising authority is the Royal Ocean Racing Club.
A team shall consist of three boats, one from each class:
Class 3 0.980 - 1.039 DLR not exceeding 215
Class 2 1.040 - 1.104 DLR not exceeding 200
Class 1 1.105 - 1.320 DLR not exceeding 200
At least 50% (rounded up e.g. a crew of 9 = 5) of the crew of each boat on board in any race shall comprise individuals who are Nationals of the country of the relevant team or individuals who have since 1 June 2005 had their principal residence in that country or individuals who were born in that country. Proof of Nationality, residence or birth may be required.
Not more than 25% (rounded down) of each crew shall be ISAF category Group 3. The
remainder of the crew on each boat may be Group 1 or Group 2 provided that at least 50% (rounded up) are Group 1. Owners are strongly advised to check carefully the status of each crew member before competing.
A Group 3 competitor shall not steer for any inshore race. A Group 3 competitor shall not steer a boat when starting either the Short Passage/Coastal Race or the Offshore Race and shall not steer for the first hour of either race.
