First 40.7 Nationals

Details of an event coming up imminently for the Beneteau one design

Thursday May 13th 2004, Author: Ian Morrin, Location: United Kingdom
The Beneteau 40.7 Nationals will be sailed out of GunWharf Quay, Portsmouth, under the flag of the RNC and RAYC. Racing will take place in Hayling Bay and consist of a series of five races on windward-leeward courses.

Taking place over 22-23 May, the event, sponsored by Novatech, will be the first time that a National event has been organised solely for the 40.7 fleet. There will be a meeting over the weekend to discuss the setting up of a 40.7 Class Association and series of races throughout the year.

The 40.7 fleet is expanding rapidly with at least 35 boats in the Solent area alone. The aim of this event is to develop the fleet further still.

Those taking part can enjoy reduced mooring fees and a class dinner at the RNC-RAYC on the Saturday night.

Anyone interested in attending should contact Ian Morrin ian.morrin@first407.co.uk.
