SB3s return to the Solent

For second round of the Henri Lloyd-sponsored series

Following straight on from last weeks Laser SB3 Midsummer round 1 at Seaview YC, comes the second and final event of the summer series (and third event of the Henri Lloyd Eurocup). Close to 20 boats will line up this Saturday, again in the Solent, but on this occasion sailing from the Royal Southern Yacht Club.

Following on from last weekends victory, taken in style with some calculated sailing on day 2, will be John Hanson's Turbo Services International crew. Hanson will be looking to offset the charges of Mike Ewart Smith ( Sublime), Johnathan Money ( GUL) and the Laser works boat who all showed event winning potential at Sea View. It won't be easy pickings though in this fleet, as any one of the crews are capable of scoring event winning results, and going home with the Henri Lloyd goodies.

As the SB3 fleet matures the one design philosophy of the newest sportsboat class is resulting in the tightest exciting racing around. Seconds separate boats at the end of races and close mark roundings at all the corners ensure SB3 racing is no procession!

Henri Lloyd supply the Pimms for this latest Eurocup installment. Following this weekend's event the fleet moves on to Skandia Life Cowes Week where for the first year a class start welcomes the SB3s. The Henri Lloyd Eurocup concludes in Falmouth with the Laser SB3 National Championships on the 12/13/14 September 2003.
