Ker 11.3 splash down

New boat arrives at Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club with party invitation

Monday February 3rd 2003, Author: Phil Crebbin, Location: Australasia
The first Race1 Ker 11.3 to come to Asia, Jaywalker, arrived in Hong Kong on 28th January 2003. Race1's Philip Crebbin and Anthony Haines are in Hong Kong to commission the boat before handing her over to the owner, Paul Bankowski. Paul currently owns the Mumm 36 Tickled Pink (formerly Mean Machine in the winning Dutch Admiral's Cup team of 1999), which is now up for sale.

With the great success of the 11.3s in both IRC and IRM competition in England, including the inshore series of races in the 2002 Commodore's Cup and winning other top trophies like the Queens Cup, New York Yacht Club Cup and Rocking Chair Trophy in Cowes Week, Paul made the decision to bring the first one to Hong Kong, the tenth 11.3 that has so far been produced. Both Paul and Race1 are keen to see more of these fantastic racing yachts come to this part of the world.

Paul and Race1 are planning a launch party for Jaywalker at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on Wednesday, 5th February, from 6pm to 8pm, while Philip and Anthony are still there. Please come along to see this wonderful yacht and join the celebration.
