This year's top teams from the Laser 4000 and 5000 circuit will be competing in the final "crash and burn" Super Cup Slalom of the season on 27 Saturday October, Queen Mary Sailing Club. The event kicks off at 1000.
The event is now a regular fixture for these fast asymmetrics and this end-of-season event promises another exciting day's racing for competitors and spectators alike. The best sailors from the year's Audi Laser EuroCup and the Crewsaver UK series have been invited to participate, with separate racing for the Laser 4000s and 5000s. With everyone well-practiced from the seasons' racing they should all be at peak performance ready for a day of close racing. Following a series of short of qualifying heats on a tight course, the day will culminate in a straight fight for the prizes in the "winner-takes-all" final.
The nature of the racing means that adrenelin runs high - any mistake is quickly punished by the other competitors. The course will, as best possible, be laid in front of the club house to allow spectators a spectacular view from the comfort the bar.
