Flax boat at Speed Week

A new material was used in the construction af a catamaran at Weynouth Speed Week

Niels Haarbosch from Holland also had a Flaxcat at Weymouth Speed Week, an experimental construction using flax with epoxy to mould a catamaran, based on an Aero Skimmer design.

Fitted with a nomal twin trapeze rig the cat is being used as a trail horse to show the potential of the material - derived from organic sources.
