Girls and boats

I'm stoked to be able to sail with a mixed crew. It has been so civilised. The difference is incredible. It makes me think now that 30-odd days at sea with a bunch of blokes isn't meant to be. On leg one there were a couple of stressful periods when we parked under Beachy Head and all the blokes were going around griefing on ourselves kicking winch handles. But Ellen was so smooth and positive, she made us work together and we got out.

Then there's the language! I'm hopeless. I've spent so many lengthy periods of time in large teams with guys at sea and my language is disgusting. I come off the boat, go home and my mum is just devastated and wants to wash my mouth out with soap and water. So when we stepped on board Kingfisher we did take it into account that we should be more couth.
