And the winner is...

Mackay FX is chosen by the ISAF Council to be the Women's Skiff for Rio 2016

ISAF has confirmed thaat the Mackay FX has been selected for the Women's Skiff event at the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition.

ISAF Council considered the recommendations of the Evaluation Panel, the Equipment Committee and the Events Committee and, after a comprehensive discussion, voted with 19 members in favour of the Mackay FX, 14 for the 29er and a disappointing two for the RS900. While the MacKay FX, effectively a 49er with a shorter rig, was the choice of the Equipment Committee it is believed that the British-conceived and built RS900 was first choice of the Evaluation Panel.

The ISAF Council Mid-Year Meeting continues on Saturday 5 May when the recommendations from the mixed multihull equipment evaluation trials and the kiteboarding format evaluation group will be considered.
