Skiffs sailing USA

This past weekend seven International 14s ventured to Santa Barbara, CA to take part in the Skiff Festival along with the five 49ers and nine 29ers.
The fleet hasn't been to Santa Barbara in quite some time and everyone was glad to be able to return. The conditions were light to moderate (4 to 10 knots) with the wind starting light on both days and building to just enough to twin wire by the last race.
Five races were held on Saturday, and four on Sunday. The race committee did an excellent job of keeping the starts moving with some sequences starting right after the last boat finished and on top of that provided lunch to the competitors (for those sharp enough to remember or observe others getting their lunches that is).
Casa Boehm was open with plenty of floor space for those looking for a place to stay for the night and on Saturday night the fleet was there for a BBQ with plenty of beer, tri-tip, rum-drinks, pie, and beer and rum-drinks. Everyone is looking forward to returning at the end of June for Nationals, even the water widows and families, as it's a great place to visit.
