Day one of the Skiff.tv Grand Prix

The opening day of racing in the 2003 Skiff.tv Grand Prix being raced in the beautiful Penghu Islands in Taiwan saw a pleasant 8-12 knot northerly with 16 boats racing in the 49er fleet.

Four races were completed in the qualification series with two races being completed in the OK dinghy division.

The two Danish teams have taken an early lead, Allan Norregard and Klaus Naur have taken a 3 point lead over the overall world cup leader Michael Hestbaek and Dennis Andersen with Australian Gold Medallist Mark Turnbull and crew Nick Partridge in third place.

Four races are scheduled for tomorrow with the weather expected to very warm again with a the possibility of a lighter breeze.
