Skiff training

In a new DVD, Musto Skiff World Champion, Richard Stenhouse, demonstrates a range of skills and techniques relevant to various skiffs including sailing his Musto Skiff rudderless, breaking the myth that skiff sailing is hard.
Stenhouse maintains the lessons put across in the DVD are relevant for a wide range of classes. "I find DVD’s are a great way to learn new skills. Once you have seen how to do it, you know how to do it," he explains. "My inspiration for making a DVD was the first time I sailed a Melges 24 at the UK Nationals with My wife Kit, Paul Manning and Simon Rosier. We had not sailed a Melges before but from studying Harry Melges' video on boat handling we were competitive and with a little extra bar chat with the top teams won some races.
"In K16 taking control I have included interviews with top sailors like Paul Brotherton, Ian Trotter, Ian Renilson and many others. If you ask the right question you will often get an interesting answer."

NB: This video is formatted to play in Windows Media Player and is LARGE in size - therefore only suitable for those with a broadband connection. Mac users can now view .wmv files by downloading a suitable add on to Quicktime - we for example use Flip4Mac which works a treat. The only noticeable difference is that while the clip will play out while downloading on a PC in Internet Explorer, on a Mac it must download first.
