At The Hampton Sailing Club Enterprise Open meeting

Monday September 5th 2005, Author: Derek May, Location: United Kingdom
The Hampton Sailing Club Enterprise Open meeting is part of the Thames Valley Series, sponsored by Fullers London Pride and competitors were competing, not only for honours on the day but also for positions in the series.

A warm sunny day coupled with a consistently good easterly wind ensured that the twelve Enterprises competing were to enjoy a day of excellent sailing.

Amongst the 12 competitors were visitors from Broadwater, Grafham Water, Island Barn and South Bank Sailing Clubs.

The first race saw Neil Parsloe, from Broadwater sailing club, crewed by Siobhan Ladyman lead from start to finish despite being closely challenged at times by Phil Chambers from Hampton, crewed by Ewan Gittings. Third place being taken by Keith Tyler from Grafham Water.

In race two Phil Chambers took an early lead only to be overtaken by Neil Parsloe by the end of lap two. Third place again being taken by Keith Tyler.

With only two races out of three to count for the prizes, first place was already decided before the start of the last race leaving second and third places to be settled.

The third race had Neil Parsloe over the line at the start and meant that by the time he had cleared the line as several places down the fleet. This set back was to prove only temporary as by the end of the first lap he had obtained a clear lead and at the end was to be well clear of the pursuing boats. Phil Chambers again finished in second place, despite being seventh on the first lap.

Results:

1-Neil Parsloe and Siobhan Ladyman
2-Phil Chambers and Ewan Gittings
3-Keith Tyler and Katie Tyler

First Lady Helm was Debbie Harley, crewed by Ben Harley
