Goodison leads in Croatia

Team GBR sailor scores 4 points in three races to lead 120 strong Laser European fleet

After a delayed start to the championship on Monday waiting for the wind to come in, the Laser European Championship finally got underway yesterday in Split, Croatia. Two races were sailed in 8-12 knots of wind, but the breeze switched off after the second race and the racing was postponed.

Competitors were kept out on the race course in the hope that further racing could get underway in an attempt to catch up on the missed races yesterday, this proved successful with another race completed and in the bag.

Team GBR sailor Paul Goodison notched up a 1,1,2 scoreline to lead the 120 boat fleet by a point from local Croation sailor Mate Arapov. Michael Blackburn from Australia lies in third with 18 points.

The championship continues through until Saturday 2 August
