To mark the 40th Anniversary of Frenchman Andre Cornu designing and launching the Olympic 470 dinghy, the International 470 Class Association has introduced the International 470 Class Hall Of Fame.

With 470s sailing in almost 70 Nations and 40,000 boats worldwide, the class has become recognised as the toughest of double handed dinghy World Championships to win and the ability to win multiple titles is a mark of sailing prowess above the normal.

With so many famous names having sailed the class since 1963 and especially since it's introduction as an Olympic Class in 1976 for Men and 1988 for Women, it was a difficult choice to select the first inductees into the 470 Hall of Fame.

But the first of the most deserving sailors and 2003 International 470 Class Hall of Fame
inductees are 3 Time 470 World Champions from the USA Dave Ullman and Tom Linskey and Ukrainian Triple World Champions Ruslana Taran and Elona Paholchik.

The Hall of Fame Awards will be made at the Class's 40th Anniversary Dinner in Brest France (6th July 2003) at the beginning of the European Championships 2003.
