29er join the Gold Series

A report from the racing in Weymouth

The 29er fleet was invited to be part of the now traditional 49er Gold series in Weymouth each autumn. Light winds and a very sunny and warm day greeted the fleet on Saturday. Three races were held in marginal trapezing conditions. Sundays racing was cancelled due to strong winds. With a few of the old hands moving up to 49ers it was a good opportunity for some of the newer faces to make their mark. Ed Chapman & Tom peel won the day closely followed by current National Champions Tristen Jaques and Alain Sign. Sophie Jones and Ben McViegh had a solid day to give them 3rd. Fresh from the 405 class Dylan Fletcher showed a lot of promise and gained a credible 4th.
