Jean-Pierre Dick announces his crew
With the launch of his new MOD70, Virbac-Paprec 70, Jean-Pierre Dick has announced the team involved with the one design trimaran. His all-star team includes past competitors in the Vendée Globe, America's Cup, Jules Verne Trophy, as well as considerable miles on both one and three hulls.
Jean-Pierre Dick, Skipper, 47: "For this new challenge, I chose a friendly crew with diverse skills. All have a lot of miles under their belts and experience racing. The aim is to work together in a serious good humoured to be quickly effective."
Roland Jourdain, Watch Leader, 48: "This is a nice vintage, a nice selection made by Jean-Pierre. We have a crew very homogeneous, we have work to implement the 'choreography' of this team on the race course to reach the same level as our competitors who have already sailed a season last year."
Vincent Riou, Watch Leader, 41: "I think the crew around JP is very nice. There is great knowledge in terms of racing without neglecting the friendly human aspect. There's a real cohesion, a real desire to fight together. "
Thierry Duprey Du Vorsent, boat captain and bowman, 43: "This is a new project, there is everything to build, organise, it is exciting! It's a nice challenge both technical and competitive. We have much to share. "
Fred Guilmin, tactician and helmsman, 41: ""This is a new adventure for me! The crew is top, navigations are going very well, I am confident for the future."
Thierry Douillard, trimmer and helmsman, 40: "It's always interesting to be at the start of a project to make a contribution 'building' to achieve a goal."
Guillaume Le Brec, bowman, 33: "My involvement in Jean-Pierre Dick's projects continues. This will be a great experience!"
Of his crew Dick comments: "This is a friendly and knowledgeable crew. We enjoy sailing together and share our various maritime experiences."
The objective of the Virbac-Paprec sailing team is to get up to speed and be competitive as possible for the Route des Princes in June.

- Grand Prix Guyader (3 to 6 May 2013): crewed race in Douarnenez
- Armen Race (May 9 to 12, 2013): Offshore race from La Trinité-sur-Mer
- Route des Princes (9 to 30 June 2013): crewed race around Europe (five legs: Valencia - Lisbon - Dublin - Plymouth - Morlaix)
- Transat Jacques Vabre - starting 3 November - Transatlantic double between Le Havre and Itajai (Brazil)
