Could you be a Volvo Ocean Race MCM?
Check out the two latest videos from the Volvo Ocean Race. The first one called 'Difficult Decisions' was shot during the last race by Media Crew Member (MCM) Gabriele Olivo aboard Telefonica Azul, which we think demonstrates brilliantly the extreme working conditions that the new crop of MCMs will experience in the next edition of the race starting on 29 October from Alicante, Spain.
In the next video shot by incoming MCM Hamish Hooper who will sail aboard Camper in 2011-12 we see a new level of insight and production value that will be the hallmark of the Volvo Ocean Race moving forward.
Volvo Ocean Race MCM coordinator Rick Deppe will be running an MCM workshop at the end of March in London and Spain.
In preparation for this he would like to reach out to TheDailySail community for submissions which must contain all of the following:
1. CV
2. Cover letter
3. Some links to best work (featuring both video and stills).
Deppe explains the idea: "We are looking for something a little different: language skills, life experiences and of course some attitude. MCMs are chosen by the each of the participating teams, but we want to get an idea of other people who might be out there. Talented people who have not been able to showcase their abilities to us or the teams, that way we can add to our database of potential MCMs for this race and the future. All submissions will be considered carefully, but please bear in mind we already have a very strong database."
The deadline for submissions is 1700 CET on 28 February 2011, and if you or someone you know, has got what it takes please submit to Television@VolvoOceanRace.com
