De Kersauson slows up

The big French trimaran follows Fossett into the Trades

Thursday February 12th 2004, Author: James Boyd, Location: Transoceanic
Position at 2021GMT: 32°41N 20°47W
Distance covered in the last 24 hours: 370 miles
Average speed: 15.44 knots.

It was supposed to have been a slower day for the crew of Geronimo, the Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric sponsored trimaran, who loved a further 330 miles down the course over the course of the last 24 hours and who at the latest position report are just leaving Madeira to port.

Generally Geronimo has been making better progress than Cheyenne, and the giant trimaran is now out into the Trades, fully chasing Cheyenne.

It was in these waters last year that the crew of Geronimo encountered their giant squid.
