Geronimo slipped her moorings in Brest's Arsenal early this evening and at 23:17:40 crossed the Ushant start line on her second attempt on the Jules Verne Trophy this season.
At the time of the start Geronimo was sailing in 20 knot north northeasterly winds. To break Orange's record for the Jules Verne Trophy Olivier de Kersauson and his 10 man crew will have to complete their circumnavigation before 07:54:04 on 30 April.
Conditions look much better for Geronimo then when she left shortly after Steve Fossett's Cheyenne on 8 February. The present forecast shows a northerly wind flow for the next 48 hours.
The crew are once again:
Skipper : Olivier de Kersauson.
Watch Captains : Yves Pouillaude et Didier Ragot
Crew members : Pierre Corriveaud, Franck Ferey, Pascal Blouin, Xavier Douin, Antoine Deru, Armand Coursaudon, Philippe Laot, et Xavier Briault.
