Geronimo to set sail tomorrow

Fresh attempt on the Jules Verne Trophy for Olivier de Kersauson's maxi tri

Geronimo, Olivier de Kersauson's Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric sponsored trimaran will leave Brest arsenal tomorrow morning with the aim of crossing the start line of the Trophy Jules Verne around midday tomorrow.

De Kersauson wants to cross the line as early as possible to get the most of the favourable weather conditions.

Her first departure was made in an average window and following their return and the rapid repair work that has been carried out on her gennikers, Geronimo and her crew want to make full use of this opportunity.

The new weather window seems more favorable than the first but more importantly seems a lot simpler to anticipate with two giant systems dominating the weather - a low pressure slowly moving across Spain and a huge area of high pressure lying north-south across the middle of the Atlantic, leaving a nice expressway of northeasterly for Geronimo to run down.
