Francis Joyon has notched up another 400 mile day having opted to head southeast and round the bottom of Tasmania. He is currently half way across the Tasman Sea lining up to round the bottom of New Zealand.
At present the weather situation is stable, but the situation will be becoming considerable more complex in around 48 hours time once he has rounded the south of New Zealand and is out into the Pacific. Here Joyon will encounter some calmes - something of a new experience for him so far on this solo round the world record bid.
