Olivier de Kersauson and the crew of Geronimo, the Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric sponsored maxi-trimaran have been on stand-by ready for an attempt on the Jules Verne Trophy for some weeks now.

The crew assembled this morning in Brest to the assess the possibility of a departure tonight, following consultation with the team's meteo expert Pierre Lasnier. The upshot of this is that the weather is suitable over the next 48 hours for a possible departure tonight.

Geronimo is due to leave her berth in the naval port in Brest this afternoon to head towards the start line =off Ushant. A final decision where they will make a start will be made once they are on the line.
