British Mini sailor takes third

Top result for Oliver Bond in the Les Sables-Azores-Les Sables race

This morning saw the first arrivals on the second leg of the Mini class' Les Sables-Azores-Les Sables. First home was Francisco Lobato on Looking for... who reached Les Sables d'Olonne this morning at 03:15:00 in 6 days 12h 15m 00s
while second was Sébastien Picault on Kickers.

However great news for British sailor Oliver Bond who after a fifth place into Horta was third home this morning in an exceptional performance on board his Mini Base Camp, and significantly first among the Series boats. But with Charlie Dalin on Antalis finishing just seven minutes after Bond, the British sailor finishes second overall in the Series class with the combined elapsed times from this race's two legs.

The race was not without its dramatic moments for Bond. "I decided to rest a bit before the finish and I did wake up in time: my boat went on the rocks off Barges! I managed to get off but I lost half an hour and my boat is slightly damaged. But what a leg! From bringing all the time there was the breeze, the waves… "
