Francis Joyon sets sail on the Route of Discovery record

Francis Joyon and his maxi-trimaran IDEC set sail from Cadiz this morning at 05:30:57 GMT in order to break Thomas Coville's record for the Route of Discovery course to San Salvador in the Bahamas via Gran Canaria.

To beat Sodebo's record, IDEC must cross the Atlantic and reach San Salvador in less than 10 days, 11 hours, 50 minutes and 46 seconds, ie before 7 November at 17:20:43 GMT.
