Interceptor was not an option for Kingfisher

In our article The The TJV’s Dark Horse about Artemis 2’s participation in the Transat Jacques Vabres we made reference to the fact that ” An interceptor was originally being proposed by Rob Humphreys back in 1999 for Ellen MacArthur’s Kingfisher.”

We now understand that this was not the case. The interceptor idea was not one of the options discussed during the design of Kingfisher.
