This Easter weekend all competitors in the 61st Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race will have complimentary access to high resolution wind forecasts from PredictWind.com

PredictWind is a forecast system that provides a worldwide detailed weather forecast down to an incredible 1km resolution. Its founder, Jon Bilger, is a keen yachtsman who participated as a navigator in the America’s Cup in 1995, and proceeded to become head of Alinghi’s weather team. He explains: "At Alinghi, we had access to some of the best weather modeling technology available. As a sailor, I thought that it would be great if the same technology would be available to the public for marine forecasting. PredictWind is a dream come true for me, and I am fortunate to be involved with a team of professionals who are leaders in their field."

As part of the 61st Brisbane to Gladstone thanks to TracerTrack and ESRI Australia, race spectators will be able to monitor the race in real time using the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Tracker. PredictWind’s high resolution Wind Forecasts have been integrated with Yacht Tracker to show the expected wind over the course of the race.
