On 18 June, Pascal Bidégorry and his crew responded to the call of the Atlantic and set sail for New York. Yesterday evening, at dusk the Banque Populaire V maxi tri arrived in the Big Apple, making its entry into the marina in Brooklyn, a short distance from Manhattan.

The delivery gave the opportunity to integrate their new team mates, Vendee Globe skipper Yann Eliès and Tornado sailor Xavier Revil. "Leaving Brittany, I knew that our crew was made up of people of value and I can say that I was not disappointed at all by our two new recruits," said skipper Pascal Bidégorry

On the delivery Banque Populaire V reached the Azores in two days before encountering a ridge that slowed them down and then 24 hours of sailing in rough seas, culminating in their arrival in New York in 40 knot winds. Bidegorry said they had never sailed the boat in such lumpy conditions before, and she performed well.

The team will now wait before making an attempt on the west to east transatlantic record, whenever a suitable weather window arrives.
