Having gone 'Code Amber' yesterday, the Banque Populaire team have announced that they are standing down and have reverted to Code Red on the basis that the weather window that looked possible yesterday for a start on Wednesday night/Thursday and on, it now not looking so favourable.

Skipper Pascal Bidégorry explained: “Yesterday the files and the various weather models agreed but unfortunately the weather window was degraded over night. It is a shame because since we went on stand by, it has been the first window which could have enabled us to cross the North Atlantic in four days. This morning, the routing is showing a much longer time.”
