Henri Lloyd back budding British solo offshore sailor

Specialist marine clothing brand Henri Lloyd have announced their association with Katie Miller as her Technical Clothing Partner for her future sailing campaigns, including the OSTAR 2009. Miller will be joining the likes of Dee Caffari, Ben Ainslie and Nick Rogers as part of Team Henri Lloyd.

Miller was a guest on board the Henri Lloyd sponsored TP52; Henri Lloyd – Cutting Edge today at Skandia Cowes Week, where the boat was competing in IRC 0 and finished in 6th place overalll.

Miller's first experience of sailing was in 2000, on family holiday to Greece. In 2004, Katie gained her Day Skipper qualification and in 2006 Katie sailed around Great Britain, in her Corribee Elektra. More recently, Katie qualified for the 2009 OSTAR single handed race, when she took the overall honours in the bluQube Solo 1000, as well as being awarded the 'Saltire Quaiche' for best rookie and the bluQube Endeavour Trophy voted for by competing skippers.

For the next two years, aswell as studying Yacht Production and Surveying at Southampton Solent University, she will be preparing for the OSTAR 2009 in her Beneteau Figaro II by competing in the RSYC double-handed series and the PB solo series.
