Banque Populaire new record confirmed

The World Sailing Speed Record Council have confirmed a new record for the ORMA 60 trimaran class. This was set during the Transat Jacques Vabre by Pascal Bidegorry and Yvan Ravussin on the 60ft trimaran Banque Populaire.

Between 0730 on 13 and 14 November 2007, between positions 01º 08.22'N; 27º 29.78'W and 08º 09.44'S; 33º36.68' W, Bidegorry's blue and white trimaran covered an amazing 667 miles - or an average of 27.8 knots for an entire day!
