Orange crew announced

Line-up includes Around Alone winner

Bruno Peyron has official announced the crew he will be shortly taking around the world on a Jules Verne Trophy record attempt with him on the maxi-catamaran Orange II. The line-up includes a man well known to these pages - Swiss Open 60 and Mini sailor Bernard Stamm, most recently winner of Around Alone.

Orange II's crew will comprise 14:

Bruno Peyron (skipper)
Roger Nilson (navigator, medic)
Lionel Lemonchois (watch leader, helmsman)
Philippe Peche (watch leader, helmsman)
Yann Elies (watch leader, helmsman)
Ronan Le Goff (rigging and maneouvres)
Sebastien Audigane (helmsman, safety)
Jacques Caraes (trimmer, video)
Florent Chastel (ropes)
Yves le Blevec (trimmer)
Jean-Baptiste Epron (trimmer, supplies and logistics)
Nicolas de Castro (boat builder)
Ludovic Aglaor (helm)
Bernard Stamm (helm, mechanics)

Between the crew there are 171 transatlantic crossing and 21 round the world voyages. Impressive...

The shore team is led by technical director and round the world veteran Halvard Mabire, Gilles Chiorri is responsible for safety, Gilles Campan is shore manager, Alain Collechia is on mechanics, Eduardo Valderas is on electronics and weather while other members include Marc Engelbert, Clement Surtel, Yann Le Govic, Benoit Hantzperg and Elise Bakhoum.
