Gant Time has been appointed as The Official Timekeeper for the Volvo Ocean Race. Gant Time will be awarding a prize after each of the nine different stages, to the crew that has sailed furthest in a 24-hour period.
“Gant Time represents precision and accuracy. We are delighted to have them as our official timekeeper,” said Glenn Bourke, CEO of the Volvo Ocean Race. “We believe that the partnership will lead to synergies for both of us,” he added.
The partnership is designed to increase awareness of the Gant Time brand and consolidate the values it represents, such as lifestyle combined with precision and advanced technology.
Gant Time is launching its new watch series, ‘Maritime’, inspired by the nautical lifestyle. Among other things, the collection includes a 'limited edition' watch specially designed for the Volvo Ocean Race.
“For Gant Time, the Volvo Ocean Race is in perfect keeping with the brand image. Water and Gant go hand in hand. Our passion for water and a nautical lifestyle have their roots in our American East Coast heritage. Gant has also always had a strong connection to sailing through its sponsorship of events like the America’s Cup and the Gotland Runt,” says Christoffer Owers, President of Synoco Scandinavia AB, the Gant Time licensee.
