A second place in leg six has put Inschallah VI into the best position for overall victory in the Nord/LB Baltic Sprint Cup, just prior to Thursday's last and decisive leg. The Baltic race which started on 9 July in Sandhamn, Sweden will end this Friday in Warnemuende, Germany. Leg number six from Gdansk, Poland to Copenhagen, Denmark was won by Tom Ebert's Tutima followed by Volker Andreae's Inschallah VI
and Harald Graf von Saurma-Jeltsch's Meltemi.

The sight at the finish was a familiar one for Race Director Alan Green with Outsider, Tilmar Hansen's Elliott 45 winning line honours once again into the Danish capital. However it was Thomas Ebert and his DK 46 Tutima who followed only minutes later, her dark grey form fast enough to win the leg on corrected time.

“It was a good race, and we are really happy about the result”, said Ebert after their arrival. “But we nearly caught up with Outsider too. They started sweating already, because we where really close all the time and in the end we came in less than 20
minutes later”, he added.

Volker Andreae, owner and skipper of the one-off Inschallah VI was both happy and relaxed, too. A second place for his crew of nine from Hamburg in this leg have launched them into first place overall, although the final leg will be decisive as it cannot be discarded. The overall results do only carry discards after leg seven.

“The race was very thrilling; we were match raciing Hansa and World of Tui all the time. And up to the finish, we have all been very close”, said Andreae.

Also in the front of the pack was Stefan Hummelt and his X-442 Emil Reiseschwein. They finished fourth on this leg and continue to fly the yellow flag for the leading yacht in the overall results list without discards. In the fight for the Neptune’s Trophy for the Nord/LB Baltic Sprint Cup they will be a hot candidate too.

The red yacht Ladybird from Pärnu, Estonia continues to post very good
results and knocking on the podium as well. “We have made some mistakes on our way to Copenhagen, but the leg was good to sail, not as cold as the last one and pretty easy”, said Erki Melts, skipper of the Acton 395. “We want to attack again in the last race on Thursday”, he said.
