Sony back on board

New sponsor for Ericsson Volvo Ocean Race campaign

After successfully collaborating in the telecommunications and content businesses, Sony is now joining the Ericsson Racing Team to tackle the Volvo Ocean Race 2005 and 2006 challenge.

Carl-Henric Svanberg, Ericsson President and CEO, says "We are delighted to have Sony on board for the Volvo Ocean Race. After four years of a successful Sony Ericsson joint venture, there are strong ties between our companies. We are pleased to be able to extend out partnership in this way."

Through Ericsson technology, people will be able to track the race around the clock, experience what the crew is going through and participate through the use of mobile and internet technology.
