Round Ireland update

With half the fleet still at sea in the BMW Round Ireland Race this morning, the overall winner has yet to be decided as handicap corrected times for key yachts are too close to be predicted.
Last night, Eamonn Crosbie's Calyx Voice & Data took over 'boat to beat' from Maltese entry Jazz skippered by Chris Bull.
With just minutes to spare just before midnight, the National Yacht Club team sailed over the finishing line at Wicklow in light winds to the cheers of a small crowd of well-wishers.
The crew of the Dun Laoghaire 32-footer must wait until lunchtime to see if their finishing is enough to stop Eric Lisson on Cavatina from scoring a second consecutive overall race win.
Meanwhile, Galway's Aodaghn Fitzgerald brought DoDingle.com home in first place for the two-handed class in a fine performance that ranked in the top ten boats and bettered many fully crewed larger entries still at sea.
