Day 62
Position at 2317GMT: 48°57N 21°28W
24 hour run: 455miles
Average speed: 18.95 knots

Olivier de Kersauson and the crew of Geronimo are currently well on track towards breaking Bruno Peyron's 2002 Jules Verne Trophy record, set on board the 110ft catamaran Orange. Despite a forecast earlier in the week which showed them having to sail upwind for the final stages of their non-stop around the world voyage, the crew have found a nice lane of southerly breeze and today logged a run of 455 miles and yesterday a whopping 565 miles - the second highest of this entire trip.

They currently hold a 320 mile lead over Orange and they have got north enough so that their run in towards the Ushant-Lizard finish line will be a streaming beam reach in 35 knot northerlies.

Their ETA at the finish line is in the early hours of Thursday morning. However let's not be counting our chickens just yet...
