An entry list of around 40 local and international cruisers is expected to compete in Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's 22nd China Sea Race, which forms part of the 2004 Omega Asian Yachting Circuit. This major offshore race will be run under the auspices of RORC and will consist of a 565nm course from Hong Kong, China to Subic Bay in the Philippines, starting on 8 April 2004.

Former holders of line honours include Karl Kwok's Beau Geste and Sam Chan's Ffree Fire. However local sailor Frank Pong will be hoping to replicate the 2002 success of Jelik with her replacement, ex-Pyewacket, a TP Maxi recently purchased from Roy Disney.

Once the boats have reached the Philippines, the series incorporates Manila Yacht Club's President's Cup and offers competitors a further four days of inshore racing in Subic Bay over 14-17 April.
