McKee resumes

American claws back his lead in the Mini Transat

Overnight American Jonathan McKee has put on an extra spurt of speed to regain first place from Frenchman Pierre Rolland. Although in terms of distance to finish just eight miles separate the leaders they are still 126 miles apart.

The leaders should soon be reaching the southeasterlies on the other side of the Doldrums and it is hard to see either McKee having much of an advantage despite their separation as they head towards Recife on a course of around 200deg.

Overnight early leader Armel Tripon has caught up reclaiming fourth position, although he is directly astern of McKee at the stage. Also a worry is leg one winner Sam Manuard who is well position between both parties.

McCarthy and Munslow are still doing well out on the right hand side of the course, with McCarthy now up to sixth position, a result he will be delighted with.
