ANNUAL CHALLENGE TROPHIES & SPECIAL AWARDS

2003 YACHT OF THE YEAR winning the
SOMERSET MEMORIAL TROPHY

IROMIGUY (Nicholson 33) JEAN YVES CHATEAU

In awarding the Trophy, the Main Committee take into account not only the yacht’s racing record, but also the other factors that demonstrate exceptional commitment to offshore racing. This year the trophy has been awarded to IROMIGUY, a Nicholson 33 launched in 1976. Her racing record of three overall race wins is by itself impressive, but when the fact that her French crew have regularly crossed the Channel, often just in time to make the start of a RORC race, the level of commitment is all the more noteworthy.
