Under the skin of Gitana X

The latest Rothschild yacht is the first 60ft trimaran to have come from Gilles Ollier & co in almost 15 years.

While some 60ft trimaran daggerboards can be rotated to give them a more efficient angle of attack, Gitana 's daggerboard is unusual in having a trim tab. It provides a draft of 5.5m and Franck Martin describes it as "one of biggest, but not the deepest" in the class. He feels this might be fortuitous as it expected that a new restriction on maximum draft may be introduced to the class.
